Window to the Wild: Free Printable Zine

If you’ve ever wished you could carry a little piece of wild landscape into your everyday life, this free printable zine is for you. I’ve created a one-page nature-inspired art zine, filled with sketches and words drawn from the Peak District moors, to bring a moment of calm and connection wherever you are.

Following on from my last post, where I wrote about how my paintings feel like little windows to the wilderness, I’ve been thinking about how we all need those reminders of the wild in our everyday lives. A glimpse of wind and heather, the feeling of standing somewhere wide and open, even when we’re sitting at a desk or making a cup of tea.

So I’ve made something small to share with you: a free, one-page zine you can print off at home. It’s a tiny foldable booklet, filled with words and sketches inspired by the moors, designed to bring a breath of fresh, untamed air into your day.

🌿 What’s a zine?

If you’ve never come across one before, a zine (pronounced zeen, like “magazine”) is a little handmade publication, usually just a few pages, created and shared independently. Zines are all about connection, creativity, and accessibility. They’ve been around for decades, used by artists, writers, and dreamers to share ideas, art, and glimpses of their world.

This one is what’s known as a one-page zine - you print a single sheet of paper, fold and cut it in a few simple steps, and suddenly it becomes a miniature booklet you can hold in your hand.

🌾 Why I Made It

I love the idea of art as something intimate and personal - something you can hold, unfold, tuck into a journal, or send to a friend. Creating this zine felt like a way to share the same sense of quiet connection that I find out on the moors.

You don’t need fancy supplies - just a printer, scissors, and a few minutes of gentle folding. Maybe you’ll keep it by your bedside, or post one to someone who needs a little reminder of the wild too.

There’s a simple folding guide included, and I’d love to see how you use it. If you share a photo, tag me or send me a message. It always makes me smile to see these little pieces of the moor finding new homes.
