Connection to the Landscape

Art Rooted in the Magic of Nature

Whether you're someone who finds magic in wide skies or mossy nooks, my work is for those who feel most alive with the wind on their skin and mud on their boots - or who simply long to feel more grounded and connected.

Each piece is an invitation to pause, breathe, and remember the quiet power of nature.

Through expressive, intuitive mark-making, I aim to capture more than just a view - I want to hold a feeling. My mixed-media paintings reflect the emotion and energy of place: sometimes wild and free, sometimes still and contemplative.

  • Inspired by the moorlands of the Dark Peak and beyond

  • Textured, atmospheric landscapes with an emotional edge

  • Art that celebrates the unnoticed, the ordinary, the sacred

  • A way to bring the outside in, and reconnect with something real

What My Collectors Say

About Me

The artist Sian Vernon in winter clothing sitting outdoors on a grassy landscape, writing in a notebook, wearing a knit hat and a puffy jacket with a purple hood.

I’m Sian Vernon, a mixed-media artist based in Sheffield, UK, working from my small home studio and inspired by the landscapes I’ve known since childhood. I grew up on the edge of the Peak District, and that sense of place has never left me. My creative practice is a way of paying attention - to light, weather, land, memory - and sharing that wonder with others.
